This week we have homophones and near homophones to learn. A homophone are words with the same sound but different spellings and meanings.


There are 5 pairs of homophones to learn:

here hear heel heal main
mane mail male knot not

These words are not tricky to spell but it is important that you know when to use each one.

e.g. "Please come over here," Mrs Mc called to the children.

        When we hear the first bell, outside on the playground, we have to stand still.
