Year 3 Homework
Homework is set to support the learning that takes place in school.
Homework expectations for Year 3 are as follows:

Reading Reading is the most important skill to support your child with. Please listen to them read aloud at least twice weekly and sign their reading record. Even the most able readers need to rehearse their reading aloud skills in order to demonstrate good levels of fluency, accuracy and comprehension. Please add any comments which you think might be helpful. |
Daily | Reading records will be checked each Friday. |
Maths Maths homework may be online or written. Please let us know about any difficulties you may have with accessing these. Children also need to be regularly practising their times tables. Times Tables Rock Stars will help with this. |
Set on Fridays | Complete by following Friday |
Spelling Children will be set a list of words to learn based on their current knowledge and retention of key sounds. Additional online and paper activities will also be provided.
Children will be given a list of supplementary spellings to try and learn each half term. |
Thursdays | Tested on the following Thursday |
In addition, a half termly homework sheet will be distributed at the beginning of each half term. Children will be set a 'must do' task and are expected to complete at least one other. a date will be given for this homework to be brought into school for a homework sharing session. |
