Good morning year 3!
Today, we will be looking at properties of 3D shapes and lines of symmetry in more detail. Be ready to tell us how many 2D and 3D shapes you can remember from this week's lessons! If you can have ready, that's great, but don't worry if you can't. Please can you all have a white board and pen (or paper & pencil) for the lesson.
If you are able, please have some real-life 3D objects next to you, ready for our game at the end of the lesson. What do you have around the home? For example, a tin of beans (cylinder), a box of tissues (cube or cuboid), a ball (sphere) - do you have some of the more tricky 3D shapes? Please make sure an adult knows that you are borrowing the objects!
Your job today is below - you need to write down or draw as many real-life 3D objects as you can see in your home (similar to our game), plus there is a Challenge for those that want to.
There are also 2 posters to help you recognise 2D and 3D shapes.
See you at 11am!
