Today we are looking again at the 24 hour clock and writing times using this format and also a.m. and p.m.
After the lesson your task is to complete the 'Times of day in different ways' activity sheet. You can print this out or draw the table in your book, but you will have to draw some clocks!
This is what you have to do - think of activities you do during the day. Record the times on the clock face, in 12 hour time and then in 24 hour time. Don't play safe! Challenge yourself to use some 'to' times as well as o'clock and half pasts.
Here is an example:
|12 hour time||24 hour time||Activity|
|7:15 a.m.||07:15||I eat my breakfast yoghurt and drink a cup of coffee at school.|
|9:45 p.m.||21:45||I brush my teeth before getting ready for bed.|
I would really like to see this piece of work - upload onto PURPLE MASH or share with me via the Year 3 Homework email address.
Here is a video of a different teacher explaining 24 hour clock from the OAK ACADEMY. Why not have a look, if you are still a bit unsure and see if it helps?
