Bayeux Tapestry Task
In the museum session we will learn more about the incredible Bayeux Tapestry. Listen to these girls from Kendrick School, in Reading, talk about the tapestry and take a look at their art work.
Design and draw your own section of tapestry, but for what it might show or explain today. Consider the layout of the original with a narrow decorative border at the top and bottom of the design. Use only the tapestry colours of blue-green, terracotta, light-green, buff and grey-blue. There are also places where very dark blue, yellow and a dark green have been used.
What might you want to describe ?
What do you think people would be interested to know about 2021?
Who will you include?
What items will you include?
What will go in your borders?
Will you include any words or numbers?
Design your panel carefully, then draw it out neatly and colour it in carefully.
