Willow Bank Junior School

Safeguarding

At Willow Bank Junior School, we take very seriously our duty to safeguard the children in our school.  The measures that the school takes in order to keep children safe are set out in our Safeguarding Policy, and we undertake regular training to ensure that we remain up-to-date in our understanding of how best to promote children's safety.

We aim to:

  • promote the health and safety of all children;
  • use safer recruitment principles when appointing members of staff;
  • protect children from deliberate harm;
  • promote positive behaviours in school;
  • address any areas of concern around behaviour;
  • be vigilant in terms of identifying at risk of radicalisation, child sexual exploitation or FGM;
  • develop children's understanding of how to keep safe online;
  • ensure that the school site is secure;
  • develop children's understanding of the difference between safe and unsafe behaviour;
  • develop children's understanding of the difference between safe and unsafe touch;
  • meet children's medical needs.

If you have any concerns, or would like our support or advice, please do come in and see us.  We believe that we will best keep children safe by working together as a school community, and in supporting children in developing the skills and understanding of how to keep themselves safe as well.
