We are monitoring ourselves against the Youth Sport Trust self-review tool in order to assess how close to Outstanding we are.  We believe the school is at the established or embedded stage in all the areas identified in the self-review document as follows:

Engagement and behaviour are excellent. All children develop their interest in sport, with many developing a passion. A particular focus is placed on developing children’s confidence, from all starting points.

A strong culture of providing a wide range of extra-curricular activities which has been embedded in the school’s practice for many years.

Strong links made between sport, fitness and health. Children in general understand the role that sport plays in their overall well-being, with some development still needed on extending this understanding to more general playground physical activity. New, challenging playground equipment has been installed.

Does your school know how to effectively utilise the new PE and school sport funding?

The effectiveness of sports provision is considered in regular budget reviews, and we constantly monitor the effectiveness of a range of factors, such as take-up of club opportunities.
