Willow Bank Junior School

School Association (PTA)

The Willow Bank Junior School Association (also known as the PTA) is a registered charity with the primary purpose to raise vital funds for the school through a number of fun activities for the children and their families.  Some of the events we organise include:

 

  • Monthly car boot sales on the 3rd Sunday of the month (raising approximately £2,000 per annum)
  • Christmas raffle (raising £900 in 2018)
  • Refreshments at the Christmas plays and sports day
  • Quiz night (raised over £250 in 2019)
  • Christmas shopping evening, Christmas tree scheme and cards (raising over £450 in 2018)
  • Fund matching (raised over £300 in 2018-19)
  • Monthly Family First Friday cake sales  (approximately £1,200 per annum)

 

The results of this fundraising is used to provide the school with facilities and equipment that they would not otherwise be able to access.  Examples include:

 

  • Playground equipment (£3,000)
  • Audio and visual equipment (£3,500)
  • Science and Art Weeks (£1,500)
  • Water coolers for the children (£500)
  • Year 6 leavers t-shirts (£500)
  • Coach travel for the whole school to go to a Christmas pantomime (£1,000)
  • Other items such as cameras, football and netball team kits, online MyMaths subscription, author visits and 'wet play' games for each classroom.
