Expectations for Year 3
Homework is set to reinforce and practise the learning in school.
|Reading||Reading is the most important skill to support your child with. Even the most able readers need to rehearse their reading aloud skills in order to demonstrate good levels of fluency, accuracy and comprehension.||
Please listen to them read aloud at least twice weekly and complete the online reading form.
Please add any comments which you think might be helpful.
Maths homework may be online or written. Please let us know about any difficulties you may have with accessing these.
Children also need to be regularly practising their times tables.

Friday to Friday
Times tables tested x2 weekly in school.
Weekly online battles
Children will be set a list of words to learn based on their current knowledge and retention of key sounds. Practise online and take a test with SPELLING FRAME.
Handwriting practice sheet

|Children will be given a list of supplementary spellings to try and learn each half term.||Half termly|
|In addition, a half termly homework sheet will be distributed at the beginning of each half term. Children will be set a 'must do' task and are expected to complete at least one other. a date will be given for this homework to be brought into school for a homework sharing session.|
