Along with several other local schools, we are involved in an oracy project, the purpose of which is to support children in developing good communication skills, so that they are able to discuss and debate important issues. There are many strands to this project, such as how to disagree with another person in a respectful, constructive way, or how to present your beliefs and ideas in a structured, articulate way. This project is supported by weekly assemblies on an important and/or topical theme. In order to keep you updated about the kinds of topics we are discussing in school, we will update this page each week with the topic which has been discussed with the children. You may even want to have discussions with your children about what they have been talking about at school.
