Maths- Checked Friday

Children are expected to read at least four times at home to an adult each week. Please write the date, book, page numbers and sign it. We will check reading records on Friday so please bring this to school then for us to see.

It is also really important to discuss the book with your child e.g.: making predictions, using inference skills, understanding the vocabulary, getting them to explain, retrieve and summarise.

Children are expected to practice and learn their times tables via Times Tables Rockstars.

They will be tested in class on their times tables twice a week- Monday and Friday.

They can use other methods to learn them at home as well as Rockstars. These could be games, singing or chanting for example.

Please record each week if possible in the reading diary what times table practice your child has done with dates.

Writing- Checked Thursday

Spelling- Checked Thursday

The children will be given a writing activity each week which will take about 5 minutes. This will be stuck in their homework book and completed in there.

Please bring this back on a Thursday. We will go through these in class.

Each Thursday we will complete a spelling lesson at school where the children will learn a new spelling rule. Children are expected to practice their spellings using the quiz set as a 2DO on Purple Mash.

This will be checked by teachers on Thursdays.
